SoundBub Portable Bluetooth Baby Soother Review

A soothing white noise machine makes life so much easier for any parent of a newborn. However, finding one that actually does its job is not always easy. These new Soundbub Bluetooth portable devices by WavHello are among the best sound machines for babies and I can’t recommend them enough.

They’re extra small and portable, comfortable to attach to a crib, stroller or car seat. Unlike many baby sound machines, Soundbub can play continuously and you can pair it with any Bluetooth device to play your favorite tracks to your little one.

You can choose between three cute designs: Benji the Bear, Ollie the Owl and Bella the Bunny.

What I like about the product

The sounds

Soundbub portable machines come with two preloaded white noise sounds: ocean and beach. Both of the original sounds are very soothing and effective for masking household noises that would normally wake up your baby. With the purchase you’ll also have access to WavHello’s voice sharing app that gives you multiple additional sounds to use, including different types of white noise and lullabies.

However, the best feature of this sound machine is that you can pair it with any Bluetooth-enabled device! This allows your little one to drift off to sleep listening to relaxing heartbeat sounds, your favorite lullabies, recorded fairy tailes or even your own voice. And you can still use the machine as a Bluetooth speaker when the baby gets older and won’t be needing a white noise machine to fall asleep anymore.

It’s portable

As the name of the device implies, the baby soother is Ollie the Owleasily usable outside your home. It’s really small (much smaller than it looks on the pictures), so it doesn’t take up much space. It has a convenient clip that makes it easy to attach SoundBub to the crib or stroller, or use it in your car.

And the battery is quite durable as well, so you can take the machine with you if you plan going for a visit or spending the whole day out with your baby. I especially like that the device uses an USB cable for recharging: I can connect it with a laptop, tablet or battery bank and let it play continuously even when the battery is drained.

Continuous play

There are several baby sound machines that don’t have this option and shut off after 15 or 30 minutes of playing white noise. I know how frustrating it can be when the baby has just fallen asleep and gets woken up by disturbing sounds. With WavHello’s SoundBub you can set the timer for 15, 30 or 90 minutes, or let the device play continuously. And what’s especially great is that the timer works for Bluetooth options as well as for preloaded sounds.

Simple to use

Despite the multiple functions that this portable sound machine offers, the device is really easy to use: you can select the preferred timer interval, volume and sound, and turn Bluetooth on with a single click.

To play preloaded sounds, just press the large button on the belly of Soundbub. The same button allows you to change the sound from beach to rain and vice versa. A switch on the top of the machine enables turning Bluetooth on (indicated by a blue light). There are switches for adjusting the volume and activating the timer on the side of the baby soother.

WavHello’s Soundbub Bluetooth baby soother is definitely one of the best picks if you’re looking for a soothing sound machine for your baby. It has everything you could want from a baby sound machine. It’s safe for babies, small and cute and has many additional features. Soundbub is usable around the house and for traveling as well. The two tracks that come with the machine have great sound and quality. And most importantly: it does what it’s suppose to do – puts your little one to sleep with no effort.
